    The event will be taking place on either Saturday 16 or Sunday 17 September, we will keep an eye on the weather and inform everyone ahead of time... Remembering the last two years were a bit blustery and wet.

    Urgent message to all PYC members:

    To all PYC Members. We are aware of the unlawful actions taking place at our beach site where apparently DUC members are dismantling equipment in our building. Our legal team is working on this as we speak. These actions are part of a continued effort to damage the PYC. We will get an interdict to stop this and DUC will be required to restore everything.     Latest Update on the “PWC” Saga

    Nice Try DPDC!!

    We just received this letter from the DPDC

    The background is:
    • The DPDC ignores our 2008 agreement where we get a R60m freehold plot for R880k and
    • Surprises us with lease for a temp shelter giving us 7 days to react and
    • A “permanent” lease for 15 years and possible renewal for 10 years costing R76million
    • The temp shelter is not complete or "passed by the DPDC board"
    • We were supposed to be vacating by 08 August 2017
    • DUC does not question the massive reversal of our rights, rushes to have and SGM to vote yes to the leases. Cuane Hall records the vote at DUC as yes, however there are many questions regarding the legality of the vote.
    • DSBC also tries to rush a yes vote through an SGM
    • DSBC Members try to slow the process to investigate why the rush to lose the rights ensured by the 2008 agreement.
    • DSBC holds an SGM and records a “win” for the yes vote by 98 to 96.
    • Results are still being questioned with questionable “proxy “votes being counted for the yes vote
    • Despite the “close” result both the DUC and DSBC rush to hold a “PWC meeting
    • The “PWC” had received legal letters reminding them that they cannot vote on the leases as the PWC is involved in an arbitration process, the result of which would affect the vote
    • The Chairman proceeds with the meeting and vote despite all warnings.
    • The yes vote is carried by the DUC and DSBC against the PYC and without the paddle ski club being allowed to participate
    • The DPDC is warned in writing through the PYC Legal team that the PWC has no mandate to sign the lease with the DPDC and is made aware of the arbitration in process
    • The “PWC” and DPDC sign the leases almost immediately after the PWC meeting. Despite the warning that the PYC will interdict any lease agreement
    • Within days following the “PWC” meeting, the clubs receive a “notice” (attached) that tells us that we have no plans for our buildings so "the City" can knock them down.
    • PYC goes to the city engineer’s department to get a copy of their plans. Ironically designed by an architect employed by the city back then.
    • Miraculously they have disappeared from the records at city engineers... a strange coincidence?
    • Fortunately PYC had been there months before, looked at the plans and made copies
    • Interesting fact....DPDC is owned 50% by the City……..
    • DPDC has started building the “Temporary building” fondly known as the cow shed.
    • Inspectors check for building plans…….there are no plans passed by the city, yet building has commenced
    • When questions are asked…. “courtesy plans” appear within hours
    • Courtesy plans still need to follow a process and be accepted……….. however apparently not these courtesy plans………….

    Warren NelWhy we cant speak with one voice beats me. We dont have the history and knowledge the Commodores and long standing commitee members have to be able to confidently find the right path, so we rely on ALL of them to work together for the good of the members. This bickering has become personal i think

    Glenn AdriaanseHi all if you read those letters they have nothing to do with the development, they clearly say that there are no plans on record at the metro for the DPSC, DSBC, PYC, AND DUC buildings / Shelters when they were originally erected and if we supply plans in 30 days the request from the metro is met..... am I right or wrong?
